Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document is a formal proclamation (legal announcement) by the Governor-General that switches on specific parts of the Superannuation Legislation Amendment Act 2010.

What it does:

Sets 1 December 2010 as the start date for items 1 to 5 of Schedule 2 of the Act
These provisions could not take effect until this date was formally declared

Why this matters: Parliament often passes laws that don't start immediately. This proclamation is the "on switch" that tells the public and regulators exactly when these particular superannuation rules become active and enforceable.
