Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This regulation repeals (cancels) four earlier sets of rules about how superannuation money could be invested. These rules (from 1976, 1979, 1980, and 1984) governed investment choices under the old Commonwealth Superannuation Act 1976.

Who it affects: Mainly Commonwealth public servants and retirees covered by the 1976 Superannuation Act, plus the fund administrators managing their money.

What it means: The specific investment restrictions and requirements in those old regulations no longer apply. This is essentially a cleanup of the statute book—removing outdated rules. It doesn't necessarily mean there are no investment rules at all (the main Act or other regulations might still apply), but these particular four instruments are gone.
