Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Declaration (effective 1 July 1991) replaces the fortnightly ‘productivity contribution’ amounts in the Superannuation Act 1976 table, setting specific contribution rates and bands for Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme (CSS) members. It is made under the Minister’s power in the Act. The change alters what CSS employees pay each fortnight (and what employers must deduct and remit), using a piecewise schedule of fixed amounts and percentage rates that changes effective contribution percentages across income levels.
