Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This declaration, by the Minister for Finance under section 110D of the Superannuation Act 1976, sets the fortnightly "productivity contribution" amounts for Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme members for the year starting 1 July 1996. It substitutes fixed amounts or percentage rates for salary bands in subsection 110C(1).

Employees pay the contributions (deducted from pay); administrators must apply the new bands and rates. It alters fortnightly take‑home pay and employer accounting for 1996–97 without changing membership eligibility or other scheme rules.
