Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This declaration makes the Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Corporation an "approved authority" under the Superannuation Act 1976.

What it does:

Allows employees of this corporation to join the Commonwealth Superannuation Scheme (CSS)
The CSS is a defined benefit superannuation fund (meaning retirement payments are calculated based on salary and years of service, rather than investment returns)
Without this declaration, these employees would be excluded from the CSS and would need to rely on other superannuation arrangements

Who it affects:

Current and future employees of the Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Corporation
The corporation itself, which must now administer CSS contributions and benefits for eligible staff
