20 Events relating to assets
(1) This section applies if the student has independent status. (2) The following events are prescribed: (a) the student becomes aware that the value of his or her assets is greater than the relevant personal assets test limit; (b) if the student has a partner—the student becomes aware that the combined value of the assets of the student and of the student’s partner is greater than the relevant personal assets test limit. (3) A person’s assets are things that, under the ABSTUDY Scheme, are assets for the purposes of applying the personal assets test.
