[s 1] Strengthening Protections Against Violent Workplace Incidents Amendment Bill 2026 Part 1 Preliminary Page 4 Authorised by the Parliamentary Counsel The Parliament of Queensland enacts— Part 1 Preliminary 1 Short title This Act may be cited as the Strengthening Protections Against Violent Workplace Incidents Amendment Act 2026. Part 2 Amendment of Safety in Recreational Water Activities Act 2011 2 Act amended This part amends the Safety in Recreational Water Activities Act 2011. 3 Amendment of s 26 (What is a notifiable incident) Section 26— insert— (d) a violent incident. 4 Insertion of new s 28A After section 28— insert— 28A What is a violent incident In this part, a violent incident is 1 or more of the following that exposes a person to a serious risk of psychological harm— 1 2 Clause 3 4 5 6 7 8 Clause 9 10 11 Clause 12 13 14 15 Clause 16 17 18 19 20 21 22

[s 5] Strengthening Protections Against Violent Workplace Incidents Amendment Bill 2026 Part 3 Amendment of Work Health and Safety Act 2011 Page 5 Authorised by the Parliamentary Counsel (a) a sexual assault or suspected sexual assault; (b) a physical assault, including with bodily fluids; (c) deliberate deprivation of a person’s liberty without lawful authority; (d) a threat of sexual or physical assault, or a threat to deprive a person of the person’s liberty, if there is a reasonable belief that, at the time the threat is made, the person making the threat— (i) intends to carry out the threat; and (ii) has the means to carry out the threat. 5 Amendment of sch 2 (Dictionary) Schedule 2— insert— violent incident, for part 3, see section 28A.
