#### 8 Relationship with Real Property Act 1900 8 Relationship with [Real Property Act 1900](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1900-025) > > (1) This Act is to be read and interpreted with the [Real Property Act 1900](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1900-025) as if it formed part of that Act, and that Act applies to lots and common property in the same way as it applies to other land. > > > (2) However, if a provision of this Act is inconsistent with a provision of the [Real Property Act 1900](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1900-025), this Act prevails to the extent of the inconsistency. > > > (3) Words and expressions used in this Act have the same meanings as in the [Real Property Act 1900](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1900-025) unless they are defined differently in this Act or the context or subject-matter otherwise indicates or requires.
