27 Functions of inspectors
> > (1) A person who, immediately before the repeal of section 48 by the [Biosecurity Act 2015](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2015-024), was an inspector under this Act is taken, on that repeal, to have been appointed as an authorised officer under the [Biosecurity Act 2015](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2015-024).

> > (2) Appointment is subject to any conditions or limitations that were in force immediately before the repeal of section 48.
>
> > (3) Any instrument of authority as an inspector issued under this Act is taken to be sufficient evidence of authority as an authorised officer under the [Biosecurity Act 2015](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2015-024).
>
> > (4) However, the Secretary is to issue each inspector appointed as an authorised officer under this clause with evidence of their authority to exercise functions as an authorised officer under the [Biosecurity Act 2015](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2015-024) as soon as practicable.
>
> > (5) This clause does not apply to police officers.
