Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations specify what kinds of services the Stevedoring Industry Finance Committee can pay for or provide under the 1977 Act.

What it does: It lists two specific types of services that are officially recognised as "prescribed services and amenities":

Food and drink – including running canteens or providing facilities where workers can eat and drink
Health services – medical or health-related services for workers

Who it affects: Workers in the stevedoring industry (people who load and unload ships at Australian ports) and the Finance Committee that manages industry funds.

Why it matters: This gives legal authority for money from the stevedoring industry fund to be spent on basic welfare services like workplace canteens and health care for wharf workers.
