Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations set the specific dollar amounts that stevedoring companies (businesses that load and unload ships) must pay under the Stevedoring Industry Charge Act.

The regulations prescribe three charge rates:

$16.85 per man-week – the weekly charge rate
$0.80 per man-hour – the hourly rate for charges under paragraph (b) of section 5
$0.55 per man-hour – the hourly rate for charges under paragraph (c) of section 5

These amounts convert the framework established by the parent Act into specific financial obligations, determining how much employers in the stevedoring industry must pay based on the hours worked by their employees.
