Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This law authorises the federal government to give almost £16 million to three states—South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania—for the 1952-53 financial year.

What it does:

Hands out cash: South Australia gets £6.3 million, Western Australia gets £8 million, and Tasmania gets £1.55 million.
Pays the bill: The money comes from the Consolidated Revenue Fund (the Commonwealth's main bank account).
One-year deal: This only applies to the financial year that started on 1 July 1952.

Why it exists: This is a straightforward "money bill"—a simple transfer of federal funds to help these three states balance their books or fund specific projects during that year. There's no complex ongoing scheme; it's a single payment that expires once the money is handed over.
