1/10 complexity

This Act authorises the federal government to give financial assistance to three Australian states—South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania—during the 1938-39 financial year.

Key points:

Total amount: £2,020,000 (just over two million pounds)
Breakdown by state:
- South Australia receives £1,040,000
- Western Australia receives £570,000
- Tasmania receives £410,000
Payment method: The money is paid in equal monthly instalments throughout the year
Funding source: The Commonwealth's Consolidated Revenue Fund (the government's main bank account)
Duration: Covers the financial year starting 1 July 1938

This was essentially federal budget aid to support these three states, which were likely facing ongoing economic pressures during the late 1930s following the Great Depression.
