Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This short amending Act replaces the funding schedule in the 1972 law, setting a new Commonwealth total of $22 million to be distributed to the six states for Aboriginal advancement programs. It reallocates federal grant money to state governments to support Aboriginal Australians.

The change reflects the Whitlam Government’s early‑1970s increase in federal investment in Aboriginal welfare and advancement.
