Statement of Principles concerning popliteal cyst (Balance of Probabilities) (No. 32 of 2018)

   • Physical activity of at least five METS at time of clinical worsening manifesting as rupture (s 8(5)). Provide contemporaneous incident reports, activity logs, witness statements, or expert occupational/physiotherapy assessments translating the described activity into METs. Use the Schedule’s definition of MET to frame the task (Schedule 1).
   • Inability to obtain appropriate clinical management (s 8(6)). Document attempts to obtain care, referrals, wait times, denials or access barriers. 11. Verify current instrument version and companion Statements: Because s 10 anticipates other Statements “as in force from time to time”, confirm that you are consulting the current versions of any cross‑referenced Statements of Principles and the current version of this instrument as it appears in the RMA’s publications or legislative instruments registers.

12. Prepare for administrative review: If a decision maker rejects reliance on a factor, preserve full evidentiary records for any review or appeal under the VEA or MRCA processes. Ensure expert opinions fully resolve gaps identified in the decision maker’s reasons.
