38 Mount Piper to Wallerawang Transmission Line Upgrade Project

(1) Development for the purposes of the Mount Piper to Wallerawang Transmission Line Upgrade Project on land in the City of Lithgow local government area, including the following—

(a) the construction and operation of a new electricity transmission line between the Mount Piper 500kV substation and the Wallerawang 330kV substation,

(b) ancillary development, including the following—

(i) the carrying out of works to upgrade or augment existing electricity transmission lines,

(ii) the construction, operation and upgrade of access tracks and roads,

(iii) construction compounds,

(iv) laydown areas.

(2) In this section—

development does not include the following—

(a) surveys, sampling, environmental investigations, geotechnical borehole drilling, test drilling, test excavations or other tests or investigations,

(b) the construction of temporary access tracks and temporary site facilities to allow for the carrying out of tests or investigations described in paragraph (a),

(c) minor works associated with the upgrade of existing access tracks,

(d) minor works associated with existing electricity transmission infrastructure.
