#### 54 Accreditation of rescue units by Minister 54 Accreditation of rescue units by Minister > > (1) Application may be made to the Minister for the accreditation of a rescue unit. > > > (2) An application for accreditation is required to be lodged with the State Rescue Board. > > > (3) The State Rescue Board is to report to the Minister on the need for the rescue unit concerned, the standard of equipment and training and the effect of accreditation of the unit on the control and co-ordination of rescue services. > > > (4) The Minister may accept or refuse an application for accreditation. > > > (5) The Minister is to have regard to any recommendation made by the State Rescue Board on an application for accreditation, but is not bound by the recommendation. > > **s 54:** Am 1991 No 94, Sch 2.
