Tasmania act
This Act declares the State Coastal Policy 1996 to have always been valid and treats past acts done under it as valid (s4). It defines “coastal zone” as State waters plus land to 1 kilometre inland (s5) and assigns administration to the Premier and the Premier’s department until changed (s6). Mechanically, it removes legal uncertainty about past decisions, clarifies the policy’s geographic reach, and places compliance and decision‑making responsibilities on affected landowners, developers and agencies (s4–6).
