Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act temporarily delays the introduction of new rules about spirits. What it does: It puts three specific sections of the Spirits Act 1932 on hold until 1 October 1935. Meanwhile, it keeps three older sections from the previous Spirits Act (1906-1923) running until that same date. Who it affects: Distillers, importers, and regulators involved in the spirits trade who would otherwise have had to comply with the new 1932 rules immediately. Why it matters: It's essentially a "pause button" that extends the life of old regulations while giving the industry more time before the new rules kick in.
