33Acting Managing Director

#### 33 Acting Managing Director (1) The Board may appoint a person to act as Managing Director: (a) during a vacancy in the office of Managing Director; or (b) during any period, or during all periods, when the Managing Director is absent from duty or from Australia or is, for any other reason, unable to perform the functions of his or her office. > Note: For rules that apply to acting appointments, see section 33A of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901. (2) The Board may determine the terms and conditions of appointment, excluding remuneration and allowances, of a person acting as Managing Director. (3) An employee of the SBS who is acting as Managing Director must be paid: (a) remuneration at the same level as would be payable to the Managing Director under subsection 32(1); and (b) such allowances as are determined by the Board.
