45Giving effect to international conventions

#### 45 Giving effect to international conventions (1) The regulations may make provision for and in relation to giving effect to an international convention that deals with either or both of the following: (a) commercial electronic messages; (b) address‑harvesting software. (2) Regulations made for the purposes of subsection (1) may: (a) vest the Federal Court with jurisdiction in a matter or matters arising under the regulations; and (b) prescribe penalties, not exceeding a fine of 50 penalty units, for offences against the regulations; and (c) declare that a specified provision of the regulations is a civil penalty provision for the purposes of this Act.
