This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This determination prescribes how southern bluefin tuna must be weighed when moved from tow cages into farms — affecting commercial fishers, aquaculture operators and AFMA. Operators must sample fish, video the transfer, jointly verify counts from the footage, and calculate total weight by multiplying the sampled average by the verified number of fish to ensure accurate biomass reporting for quota management.

(2) The weight of fish in the transfer weighing is determined by multiplying the average weight determined under paragraph 6(1)(a) by the number of fish in the tow cage as determined under paragraph 6(1)(d).
