Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This determination sets temporary rules for 2019–20 Southern Bluefin Tuna commercial quota holders: modest overcatch is allowed without immediate penalty up to 5% of a fishery holder’s quota or 100 tonnes (with an extra 2 tonnes in specified cases), and up to 20% of any undercatch can be carried forward to the next season. It gives fishers operational and market flexibility while helping keep total removals within Australia’s and international sustainability limits.
