17 Safeguards in relation to nuclear material
(1) Provision for the imposition and maintenance of safeguards in relation to nuclear material, pursuant to Australia's obligations under Articles 4 and 8 of, and Annex 2 to, the Treaty, is made in the Nuclear Non‑Proliferation (Safeguards) Act 1987. (2) Subsection (1) does not derogate from the operation of the Nuclear Non‑Proliferation (Safeguards) Act 1987. (3) In this section, nuclear material has the same meaning as in the Nuclear Non‑Proliferation (Safeguards) Act 1987.
