291B Convener and Deputy Conveners
(1) The Minister, for the purposes of this Division—
(a) must appoint a person to act as the Convener; and
(b) may appoint one or more persons to act as Deputy Conveners.
(2) The Minister must not appoint a person to act as the Convener or a Deputy Convener unless the Minister is satisfied that the person is suitably qualified or trained to perform the functions and exercise the powers of the Convener or Deputy Convener under this Act or any other Act.
(3) An appointment under subsection (1)—
(a) must be made in accordance with the regulations; and
(b) is subject to any prescribed terms or conditions.
