Commonwealth legislation
This Act has been repealed and is no longer in force. It is retained for historical reference.
This instrument sets a $12,000 cap (for the 2018–19 year) on discretionary spending from Special Disability Trusts—funds meant chiefly for a severely disabled person’s essential care and accommodation.
It affects principal beneficiaries and their trustees by limiting non‑essential lifestyle spending to preserve trust assets for long‑term care while still allowing some quality‑of‑life expenses.
