1 Name
This instrument is the Social Security (Exempt Lump Sum – South Australia Taxi Industry Reform Package Prescribed Compensation Payment) Determination 2026.
2 Commencement
(1) Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

This instrument is made under paragraph 8(11)(d) of the Social Security Act 1991.

Each instrument that is specified in a Schedule to this instrument is amended or repealed as set out in the applicable items in the Schedule concerned, and any other item in a Schedule to this instrument has effect according to its terms.
5 Definitions
In this instrument:
prescribed compensation amount has the same meaning as in the prescribed scheme.
prescribed scheme means the prescribed scheme established under section 52AB of the Passenger Transport Act 1994 (SA) as in force at 4 December 2025.
Taxi Industry Reform Package prescribed compensation payment means a payment of a prescribed compensation amount made to eligible metropolitan taxi licence holders by the South Australian Government pursuant to the prescribed scheme.
6 Exempt lump sum
For the purpose of paragraph 8(11)(d) of the Social Security Act 1991, a Taxi Industry Reform Package prescribed compensation payment is an exempt lump sum.
