Commonwealth legislation
This instrument declares that a “F-111 deseal/reseal payment” — a one-off ex-gratia lump sum paid by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs to participants in the RAAF F‑111 deseal/reseal program — is an "exempt lump sum" for the purposes of paragraph 8(11)(d) of the Social Security Act 1991. It takes effect the day after registration and repeals the 2015 Determination.
Mechanically, the determination means those lump sums are not counted under the Social Security Act’s means-testing rules when assessing social security entitlements.
