Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This instrument stops lump-sum payments under the Defence Abuse Reparation Scheme from being treated as income for Centrelink, so those payments won’t reduce or cancel regular social security entitlements. It affects current and former Australian Defence Force members (and authorised representatives receiving payments) and ensures victims actually benefit from compensation instead of losing their ongoing support.
