The Shire of Waroona’s local law declares White Weeping Broom a pest plant and empowers council officers to serve notices requiring landowners or occupiers to destroy or control it. Non‑compliance attracts penalties (up to $5,000 plus $500/day, with $250/$500 on‑the‑spot fines), and the Shire may enter properties, remove the plant and recover costs. It affects property holders in the Shire and helps protect agriculture and native ecosystems from this invasive weed.
Zoe can write the in-depth analysis on top of the summary above: how it works, who it affects and what each part actually does.
