PART 1—PRELIMINARY 1.1 Interpretation (1) Unless the context otherwise requires, where a term is used in these Rules and is defined in the local law, the Act or the Regulations, then the term is to be taken to have the meaning assigned to it in this local law, the Act or the Regulations, as the case may be. (2) In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires— simple majority means a majority of more than 50% of members of— (a) brigade members of a bush fire brigade, present in person if the majority is required at a meeting of the bush fire brigade; or (b) brigade officers of the bush fire brigade, present in person, if the majority is required at a meeting of the Committee.
