63Liabilities of ships not registered

#### 63 Liabilities of ships not registered (1) A ship required to be registered that is not registered: (a) shall not be recognized as an Australian ship; and (b) is not entitled to any benefits, privileges, advantages or protection usually enjoyed by a registered ship. (2) For the purposes of any law of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory providing for: (a) the payment of fees or other charges; (b) the liability to fines and forfeiture; or (c) the punishment of offences committed on board a ship, or by any persons belonging to a ship; a ship to which subsection (1) applies shall be dealt with in the same manner in all respects as if the ship were registered.
