#### 10 Determination of overall length and tonnage length of ship (1) For the purposes of this Act, the overall length of a ship shall, subject to subsection (2), be ascertained by measuring the distance between: (a) a vertical line passing through a point, being the foremost part of the stem; and (b) a vertical line passing through a point, being the aftermost part of the stern. (2) Where, by reason of the nature of the constructional features of a ship, it is, in the opinion of the Registrar, impracticable to ascertain the overall length of the ship under subsection (1), the overall length of the ship shall be ascertained in such manner as the Registrar determines. (3) For the purposes of this Act, the tonnage length of a ship shall be ascertained in a manner specified in the regulations.
