70X Definitions for this Part
***affected person*** means any of the following—
(a) a victim of a registrable offence committed by a registrable offender;
(b) a parent of a person referred to in paragraph (a) who—
(i) is a child; or
(ii) was a child at the time the offence occurred;
***affected person's representative*** means—
(a) a person nominated under section 70ZB by an affected person; or
(b) in the case of an affected person included in the victims register, a nominee included in the victims register for that person;
***authorised person*** means any of the following—
(a) an affected person;
(b) a person included in the victims register or previously included in the victims register in relation to the registrable offender;
(c) a family member of the affected person, including a parent of the affected person;
(d) a member of Victoria Police personnel performing a function, exercising a power or discharging a duty under this Act;
(e) a police officer, the Director of Public Prosecutions or a person employed in the Office of Public Prosecutions established under the **Public Prosecutions Act 1994** if that police officer or person is investigating an offence;
(f) a registered medical practitioner in the course of treatment of an affected person or affected person's representative;
(g) a person registered as a psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law in the course of treatment of an affected person or affected person's representative;
(h) a lawyer in the course of consulting that lawyer for legal advice;
***Director of Public Prosecutions*** means the Director of Public Prosecutions appointed under section 87AB of the **Constitution Act 1975**;
***relevant application*** means any of the following—
(a) an application for a sex offender registration order;
(b) an application for a registration exemption order;
(c) an application under section 39 or 39A for a suspension order;
(d) an application under section 44A to revoke a suspension order;
(e) an application under Part 5A for approval of a change of name application;
(f) an application under section 70R for approval of an acknowledgement of sex application that includes a change of name;
***relevant event*** means any of the following—
(a) the making of a sex offender registration order under section 11(1), (2) or (9);
(b) a suspension order ceasing to have effect by operation of section 44(1) or 44A(2);
(c) the reviving of a suspension order under section 44(2);
***relevant matter*** means any of the following—
(a) a suspension of reporting obligations under section 45A;
(b) a cancellation of suspension of reporting obligations under section 45A;
***suspension order*** means an order made by a court under section 40 suspending a registrable offender's reporting obligations;
***victims register*** has the same meaning as it has in the **Corrections Act 1986**.
