294 Chairperson and deputy chairpersons of Authority
(1) On the recommendation of the Minister, the Governor in Council must appoint one of the members referred to in section 293(2)(a), (b) or (c) to be chairperson of the Authority.

(2) On the recommendation of the Minister, the Governor in Council must appoint at least one but not more than 2 of the members referred to in section 293(2)(a), (b) or (c) to be deputy chairperson of the Authority.

(3) If the chairperson is unable to perform the duties of office or is absent or the office of the chairperson is vacant, a deputy chairperson—
(a) must act as the chairperson; and
(b) while acting has the functions, powers and duties of the chairperson.
