74 Termination of assessment order
(1) [Section 74 Subsection (1) amended by No. 21 of 1999, s. 47, Applied:01 Nov 1999] [Section 74 Subsection (1) amended by No. 21 of 1999, s. 47, Applied:01 Nov 1999] On the expiry of an assessment order, or at any time before that expiry if an approved medical practitioner or responsible medical officer applies, the court, after considering a report from the practitioner or officer specifying the results of the assessment, may –
(a) make an order under section 75 ; or
(b) pass sentence on the person.
(2) If the sentence referred to in subsection (1)(b) is a term of imprisonment, the court must deduct the period of time that the person was detained under the assessment order from that term.
