69 Issue of warrant to arrest person in default (1) If a natural person defaults in the payment of a fine or of any instalment under an instalment order, the sentencing court or the proper officer may issue a warrant to arrest the person. (2) The court or proper officer must not issue a warrant under subsection (1) if an order has been made by the sentencing court under section 64. S. 69(2A) inserted by No. 17/2022 s. 83. (2A) The court or proper officer must not issue a warrant under subsection (1) in respect of a registered court fine within the meaning of the **Fines Reform Act 2014**. (3) A warrant to arrest issued under subsection (1) may be directed to the sheriff. (4) For the purposes of this section, a person defaults in the payment of a fine or instalment if the payment is not made by the end of 28 days after the due date for payment.
