Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Act makes Queensland a single electorate for electing its 12 federal Senators: all voters across the State use the same Senate ballot. It also bars the Queensland Parliament from creating divisions or assigning senators to regions.

By locking in statewide proportional voting, the law prevents state-level redrawing or regional allocation that could favor particular parties, preserving consistent, non‑gerrymandered representation for Queensland in the federal Senate.
