### 70 Recovery of investigation costs from convicted persons > > (1)  A court that convicts a person of an offence against this Act may, on application by or on behalf of an authorised officer involved in investigating the offence, order that, in addition to any other penalty, the defendant must pay any costs that were reasonably incurred in and directly related to the investigation of the offence. > > > (2)  For the purposes of this section, the costs of investigating an offence include, but are not limited to, the costs of testing, transporting and disposing of security-sensitive dangerous substances.
