> [*\[Section 16 Amended by No. 2 of 2012, s. 63, Applied:01 Jan 2013\]*](/view/html/inforce/2013-01-01/act-2012-002#GS63@EN) In deciding or considering any matter that the regulator is required to be satisfied of or have regard to for the purposes of [section 12](#GS12@EN) , [13(2)](#GS13@Gs2@EN) or [14(2)](#GS14@Gs2@EN) , the regulator may take into account and accept, either wholly or in part, the findings of any background check or other relevant check or inquiry that may have been –

> > > (a) carried out by a corresponding regulator for the purposes of a corresponding Australian law; or
> >
> > > (b) carried out for the purposes of a related State law; or
> >
