16Investigations

##### 16 Investigations (1) Where it appears to the Minister that it is in the public interest in respect of the Territory that an investigation be carried out into any matters relating to dealing in securities, the Minister may, by instrument in writing, direct the Commission to arrange for an investigation into those matters. (2) Where it appears to the Minister that it is in the national interest that an investigation be carried out into any matters relating to dealing in securities, the Minister may, by instrument in writing, direct the Commission to arrange for an investigation into those matters. (3) The Ministerial Council may, by instrument in writing, direct the Commission to arrange for an investigation into any matters relating to dealing in securities. (4) The Commission may request the Minister in writing to exercise his powers under subsection (1) or (2) to direct the Commission to arrange for an investigation into any matters relating to dealing in securities. (5) The Commission may request the Ministerial Council in writing to exercise its powers under subsection (3) to direct the Commission to arrange for an investigation into any matters relating to dealing in securities. (6) Where a direction is given by the Minister under subsection (1) or (2), the Ministerial Council may approve the direction.
