1Purposes

1 Purposes The purposes of this Act are— S. 1(a) amended by No. 93/2001 s. 4(a). (a) to provide for the regulation of second-hand dealers and pawnbrokers; and S. 1(b) amended by No. 93/2001 s. 4(b). (b) to facilitate and expedite the recovery of stolen goods from second-hand dealers and pawnbrokers; and S. 1(c) inserted by No. 93/2001 s. 4(c), amended by No. 45/2017 s. 20(1). (c) to enhance protection of consumers dealing with second-hand dealers and pawnbrokers; and S. 1(d) inserted by No. 45/2017 s. 20(2). (d) to prevent and disrupt criminal activity in the dealing of scrap metal.
