Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Act retroactively validates probate and letters of administration that the New South Wales Supreme Court issued for people who died in the Australian Capital Territory between 1911 and 1929, treating them as if the High Court had issued them. It cures uncertainty that arose after the ACT moved from NSW to Commonwealth control and NSW court authority became doubtful.

It affects executors, administrators and recipients of estate property from those deaths.
