Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations fix a $1 million threshold that triggers the Screen Australia Act 2008’s special financial restrictions (s.41). When Screen Australia enters transactions at or above that amount, extra approvals, reporting and controls automatically apply.

That affects Screen Australia directly and filmmakers/producers indirectly whenever grants, loans, investments or commercial deals reach $1 million—creating an enforceable line between routine spending and high‑value decisions that need greater scrutiny.
