Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This declaration names Inland Rail Pty Ltd as a “Commonwealth authority” under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, so the Act applies to that company.

That change brings Inland Rail within the Act’s workplace safety, rehabilitation and compensation regime and therefore affects the company’s legal status and the people and claims governed by that regime; it determines which statutory rules, obligations and claim processes now apply to Inland Rail.
