Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

These regulations create the legal and financial framework to fund grain legume research in Australia by designating the producer levy as a prescribed levy, establishing the Grain Legumes Research Trust Fund as the holding account, and setting up the Grain Legumes Research Council to allocate funding.

They primarily affect Australian grain legume growers who pay the levy and matter because they turn producer contributions into targeted research to improve yields, pest control and farming practices.
