#### 24 Roadside fire protection 24 Roadside fire protection > > (1) A prescribed authority may, for the purposes of bush fire hazard reduction work— > > > > > (a) light a fire on a road, or on the verge of a road, if to do so is consistent with a bush fire management plan applying to the land, and > > > > > (b) while the fire is burning, prohibit, direct or regulate the movement of persons, vehicles or animals along a road. > > > (2) In this section— > > > > prescribed authority means a public authority that has the care, control or management of 1 or more of the following— > > > > > (a) a road, > > > > > (b) roadside vegetation.
