Tasmania act
This Act creates the Royal Society of Tasmania as a legal corporation that can sue and be sued, hold and sell land and personal property, and use a common seal. It also lets members set the Society’s internal rules for governance, membership and property management. Members decide governance and rule-making; the Society (through its assets) bears costs of owning property or bringing legal actions; compliance is largely internal rule-following, with member-made rules shaping behaviour and administrative discretion.
