#### 3 Definitions 3 Definitions > > (1) In this Regulation— > > > > carriageway means the portion of a road improved or designed for use by, or used by, the main body of moving vehicles and does not include any shoulder of a road, breakdown lane or other lateral part of the road not so improved, designed or used. > > > > drive includes ride or draw (in relation to a vehicle) and ride or lead (in relation to an animal). > > > > motor vehicle has the same meaning as in the [Road Transport Act 2013](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2013-018). > > > > the Act means the [Roads Act 1993](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1993-033). > > > > vehicle has the same meaning as in the [Road Transport Act 2013](/view/html/inforce/current/act-2013-018). > > > > Note. > > > > The Act and the [Interpretation Act 1987](/view/html/inforce/current/act-1987-015) contain definitions and other provisions that affect the interpretation and application of this Regulation. > > > (2) Notes included in this Regulation do not form part of this Regulation.
