221 Authorisation for vehicles for other purposes—
Act, s 128 (1) (b)
(1) In this section:
authorised vehicle means a vehicle authorised in writing by the road
transport authority for this section.
(2) The road transport authority may declare that the accredited operator
of a hire car may use an authorised vehicle as a hire car to transport
passengers along a road or road related area—
(a) to and from the place or event stated in the declaration; and
(b) during the period stated in the declaration.
(3) The declaration may include any other information the road transport
authority considers appropriate.
(4) The Act, section 64 (Use of vehicles as hire cars) and division 7.3
(Entitlement to operate hire car services) do not apply to the
accredited operator for an authorised vehicle if the accredited
operator uses the authorised vehicle in accordance with the
declaration (including the conditions (if any) stated in the
declaration).
